In home personal training in Brisbane: what to expect

Having a personal trainer come to your home removes the biggest barrier to consistency: getting there. Here is what in home training in Brisbane actually involves, and how to set yourself up for it.

In home personal training in Brisbane: what to expect

How much space you need

Less than you think. A clear area of about two by three metres covers almost every exercise. Living rooms, garages, decks, courtyards and the space under a raised Queenslander all work well.

Equipment

A good mobile trainer brings what you need: dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, a suspension trainer and mats. If you already have a home gym, sessions should make full use of it. You should not need to buy anything to get started.

Apartments and building gyms

Many inner city buildings in New Farm, Teneriffe, Newstead and the CBD have residents gyms with booking rules. Share them with your trainer once. In apartments, a low noise approach on mats keeps neighbours happy.

Training through a Brisbane summer

From November to March, heat and humidity change everything. Outdoor sessions move to first light, indoor sessions benefit from a fan or air conditioning, and hydration starts well before the session. A good trainer adjusts intensity on very hot days rather than pushing through.

Privacy and discretion

Training at home is private by design. Expect your trainer to arrive on time, leave your home exactly as they found it and never photograph your home or share your details. Confidentiality agreements are reasonable to ask for.

Getting the most from it

Keep the space clear before your trainer arrives, have water ready, and do the short sessions in your plan between visits. Most people do best with two sessions a week plus a little work on their own.
